I purchased this PAL BT Gen2 radio to replace my original PAL radio (date code 1105). The quality of this new PAL is much improved compared to the 2005 model, but I still use and enjoy both of them.

Have non BT and wanted new feature, analog dial for tuner. Only drawback is no ext signal for subwoofer mono computer hook up.

We live in an area with two weak radio stations. The weaker station broadcasts with 2800 watts about 10 miles from us and no line of sight. Regardless we get good reception in parts of the house that have only one exterior wall between us and the radio station.
The speaker is exceptionally good.
We've had two older ones in our house in the sfbay area for 20 years and are happy with them there also. I did eventually have to replace their batteries. Easy to do.
